Torch By Swaine, Adeney, Briggs And Sons (8674)

Signiture is on the band about 6" down the shaft. Notice the band is of the same material as the handle, brass. The shaft is an exotic grained tiger wood of oak. Not common in a cane shaft. The collar also says, By Appointment to Queen Elizabeth the queen mother. Umbrella Makers. Then the signiture, then Limited. Swaine, Adeney was formed in 1770 and joined Briggs and Son in 1943. They still make beautiful high end canes that start about $450 for a simple stag horn handle. This one was probably custom made during WWII for patiotic parades. A very highend piece in every way.
