 Unusual Presentation With A Snakeskin Shaft (8769)
Here is another unusual combination proving you could buy handles and put it on anything you wanted. As this is not a large cane I would think they made the shaft to fit the handle, as I have never seen a snakeskin shaft this small 1/2". I don't know who made these snakeskin shafts, and they would have taken a lot of skill, so I don't think they were homemade. There were also quite a lot of them and you would't call them rare. I don't know what kind of snake this is either as I have seen many different kinds of snake skins. It would be a fun collection to collect all the different kinds of snakeskin canes. Whats rare is finding them in good condition. Water would have caused them to peal as the glue of the day was from fish. The condition of this one is and above average has no pieces of the snake skin missing. You can also tell it was carried, and would make a fine addition to any collection.
