Ivory Sword Cane (8824)

Here is a wierd sword cane handle. Nice long blade but nothing special. The shape of the handle is too long and high to be a single piece of Ivory. Each feather is a separate piece somehow invisably pinned in place to follow the double curve. Brown bands look like baleen. Internal catch for blade. You can't tell its a sword cane from looking at it. It came from Chili. Have no idea if made there. I just know it was a lot of work to make. The ivory looks like whalestooth, but the round spacers at the bottom of the handle are elephant. This is a handle that has over 300 pieces all hand made and finished to perfection. Each feather is individually handmade, notice that all the lines on the feathers are all different. I would call it art deco from the late 20's. I've owned this many years and have never seen another one even remotely made like it.
