This is the only cane I have ever seen that becomes the barrel of a gun. The barrel has all its patena as well as having no marks where their was ever a fore arm. The experts I have consulted think it took some sort of obsolete paper bullet as there was never a seat for a shellModern shell. The hand engraved handle with sword screws off allowing the stock to screw on the shaft. This cane was presented to Edward Todd by his friends on January 17, 1876. There are no indications of refinishing or repair on this complicated poachers cane.
