Hunting Case Watch Hallmarked 1872 (8933)
This is late for a fuzee, but that is the year it was made. By then they were making lever fuzee's. Just a reminder, the law in England, required that all separate pieces of sterling or gold had to be individually marked for the quality of the metal. They didn't have to put the year mark, or the monarch, but they did have to put the lion walking sideways, or the lion passing, or the lion passent, which ever you prefer. If you had a silver watch chain every link had to be marked, as well as the little rings that connect all the parts to the chain. This has 3 lids, cover, movement back, and the stem. If the back lid didn't have matching hallmarks, it wouldn't be factory authantic. It could have been made made with a handle made for another use, and be authenticly old, but it would add to the level of suspectability, and down would go the price.
