Machinest (8328)

I assumed the # on the back of the counter handle was a patent #, it wasn't. It must be the s.n. for the counter. Anyway it's a handle made for another use. The entire cane is nickel plated brass, including the ferrule. Every thing matches nicely. The counter is for lathe revolutions, very important when cutting metal. The one piece sectional interior micrometer is for measuring the inside diameter of metal on a lathe, or milling machine. It comes apart to measure from one inch to 32", and is the exact size needed for the shaft. The micrometer has English patents and I have not found out how to get dates of English patents. My circa date is 1920 for the cane.
