German Picnic With A Lemon Squeeser (8334)
Part of the German picnic collection. Start with cane #8330for an explaination of the collection..The diameter on this all brass plated nickle cane is only a little over 2" in diameter. In the handle is a lemon squeeser, 4 glasses, a container for lemons?, a large glass that fits the squeeser in an up position. Under the squeeser are holes for a seed screen. The nickle silvered brass covering on the steelshaft was made by a machine that also made antique brass bed post before 1930. The date of their disfavor. The way to tell an antique brass bed from a modern one that the modern is solid brass and the antique one always has a seem. Therefore the shaft is antique. Inside the shaft is a nickle plate salt and pepper you can't spill and a 1' long tube that fits the shaft perfectly. When the tube is pulled apart a knife and fork are exposed which are also nickleplate. I bought it in Germany 30 years ago. The shape and use for making cocktails is artdeco of the late 1920's
