Thermos 8 Day Watch Nesting Cup Prototype (8350)
This nesting single cup cane has a bezel wind, jeweled, 8day watch by, Phinney Walker. The white porcelain dial is marked swiss.. It can be used with the cover of the nesting cups or open faced, without it. The hands are set by moving a lever on the side of the watch then twisting the bezel. The watch which is friction fit into the top cup, can be removed and carried separately. It was never a pocket watch, as there is no way to hang it from a chain with the bezel wind. It is not in any pocket watch books. It could be a car clock that was modified for this use, as the fit is too perfect to be by accident. Under the watch is a ivory folding eating set with napkin to keep it from rattling.
The shaft with 18” flask is the typical commercial speckled type.
