Cavier? (8416)

English hallmarked for 1886 sterling. Signed Clark, 20 Old Bond St., London. Has 2 spoons attached to outside. Identical hallmarks. Organization crest on lid than turns to open to reveal grill that is hinged. Screws apart in center with cork built in to prevent leekege.
Another large container in bottom. Original cherry shaft with 2" ferrule. I think its for cavier? Any opinions? Respond in forum. All engine turned, workmanship is terrific. What does the engraving on the top mean?
