Microscope With Leather Covered Handle (8426)

This and the next cane have only one thing in common, a leather cover with a well stitched seem up the side of the handle. The microscope in this one fits very well and it looks like the brass tube and the three descending tubes were made to fit the large Malacca shaft. The microscope is a student one, from the 1870’s to 1910, which is when this cane would have to have been made to be all original. I haven’t seen any of these in the last 20 years, but I always wondered if someone made these for a while, then died or quit. The next cane is a telescope with an ivory knob that attaches to the handle. It would take someone who was really talented to sew those leather handles, it sure is made well, and there is no gun bluing. I was just wondering.
