Anglo Indian Maharajahs Staffs (8572)
Pair of Maharajahs servants staffs with gadgets. For sale by the Segas family of Paris for 4000 Euro’s aren’t something you will see again soon. The hand chased elephants made in several pieces screw off revealing peacock feathers for fanning and keeping bugs off the Maharajah. In a lower compartment are torches to light his way at night. The shafts are also ornately hand chased with a section of velvet for the servant to hold. Circa 1900. 5'Height and 5" by 5" by 2.5" handle. They are nearly identical to # 8370 in this book, which is a flask cane of standard height. You don't see many Indian gadget canes, other than sword canes.
