Africian Cermonial With Snake, in Bone (8635)

Just so you know, I am unbiased about putting any religious cane in this book. I bought this cane in Africa and the guy in the market I got it from said it was used in a religious ceremony. His English wasn’t good enough to explain what it was used for. I brought back a lot of statues, mask and canes. I was promptly enlightened about the corruption in these countries as I had to pay a bribe to get them out of the country. Not that they were illegal to get out, but they made the red tape so difficult, you had to pay people to get the signatures you needed to export them. You put the money in a drawer and they signed the papers. .
The man I bought all stuff from explained it all to me, and walked me through the process. I could see my self being tricked into paying the bribes then going to jail for doing it. He said it was no trick, they don’t look at it as a bribe, but payment f or services rendered. I was also worried the canes, statues and mask might have been used in some sort of evil ceremony, and was informed it was illegal to sell that type of mask, that these were for fertility, rain, and so on. If you know what the snake between his legs means I would like to know. This cane has a lot of interesting memories to me.
