 Display Of Dike Unusual Shafts And Materials (8959)
This is what separates the collector from those who just want to impress people or buy for investment only. Most of these canes are not in the expensive catagory, they are in the I just like the creativity of these canes catagory. I like the snake skins, unusual carved shafts, compressed paper, shark vertibra, stingray,and on an on they go. Other books have pictured and described different shaft materials, so it isn't necessary for us to do that. To me what is important is that a cane doesn't have to be expensive to be part of a great collection, it just has to be authenticly of the period of canes, and help tell the story. These pictures illustrate a truly great collection. There is a different perspective of the collection in the book, Umbrella and Cane Holders, also under show and tell, in this site. It shows closeups of the cases and holders and describes the collection from a way to display canes. I'm having some of the fan holders made and will they will eventually be for sale on the site. If you are a wookworker feel free to do the same as they are not a patented design, just a great design.
