Cast Iron Umbrella Holder (9038)

This is the iron makers crowning achievement, because you have to remember the grinding wheel was not yet invented. The castings had to be perfect to fit together perfectly. If you see grinding marks on iron its not antique. Reproduction cast iron toys always have grinding marks, thats the easyest way to tell. I like the size of the holes for holding thick umbrellas.
To change the subject, I'm reminded how often I see fireplace tool holders sold for umbrella holders. The tell tail characteristic are the half round curved ends with the space in the center.
