Favorate Cloisonne Cane From China (9204)
For those of you that know me, to be a favorate it has to be a gadget. From looking at this cane when it is carried, you can't tell what it is, because the bowl is removeable. The other part I like best is that when you remove the ebony shaft the agate hard stone mouthpiece slides into the place where the shaft was. The mouthpiece was made tappered and put into place before the top was put into place, as you can't remove the mouthpiece, only slide it up when you put the shaft into place. Look how small the hole is on top of the bowl for this opium pipe cane. This is not a pattern I have ever seen in any cloisonne, but its very pretty and perfect. I would date this early 1900's.
