Torah Pointer (8631)
Torah pointers are just what the name implies, to help point out words as the torah is being read. This Ivory and wood one fits a tapered metal shaft to perfection. I’m sure someone made this for their own use, as I have never seen another one. Both the shaft and the handle are late 1800’s. The torah pointer is worth a few hundred and the shaft a $100, which is the total value of the two pieces put together. I like it, but I don’t think it’s a valuable piece.
