Speer (8425)

I have not seen many brass chased handles from the 18th. It will be interesting to see the variation in materials there are. Mostly what you see in the auctions are the pique on ivory, or just ivory with no pique. Sword canes are another common gadget from that period, with smaller ivory knobs, like the one just after this one.
I don't know if anyone can know the exact line for 1800, but thats our goal. In time maybe we can have a vote.
The ferrule is 4.5" not the longest or the shortest, the speer is very delicate and has a specific use, like frogs, it's too small for fish. It extends 18" with a silver ball that goes over the speer and when pressed against anything slides back. Thats my opinion.
