Rosewood King Base Recorder (8286)

Made in the 1930's, it's massive size lends it self well as a cane, with the knob being very comfortable in the hand. It has a 2.5" handle, 2" shaft, and is 36" in length.
The mouth piece comes apart, and along with it's leather strap, is stored inside the shaft. Standard mouthpieces don't come apart. It has a 5 1/2" brass ferrule, that matches all the brass keys. The bottom 1" screws off for air to come thru. It comes apart in 3 sections, but unlike the normal ones that slide apart, the sections screw apart with large brass threads so it won't come apart while being carried.King recorders and musical instruments are still made in Switzerland today. Until another one shows up I assume there was a custom order for this one.
