Rosewood Drill (8360)

This one looks just like the common screw off tool handle. When you open it you expect to see a hollow container, instead its an index for 8 drills. When you screw of the entire handle its a spring loaded nickel plate drill that takes the bits in the index. The mechanism is typical of the all nickel plate drills of the 1880's, but have never seen one in rosewood. This would have to be factory made. One system I would like to see is a SET of symbols or letters for things like; identifing handles made for other uses, condition, rarity, value range. I'd like to see Patrick Gutknecht do a price guide for Cane Curiosia. He told me he is doing a revision of Cane Curiosia to reissue it. It has gotten too expensive and difficult to obtain. I don't think he knows when it will get done, but I predict Jan. 2008.
