Dr. L. A. Sayre Trocar Dated 1892 (8481)
Two different sized trocar's, one inside the other, are stored in side the handle until reversed. Both trocars and the handle useing the same threads is quite clever. A trocar is used for tracheotomy, a small hole in the throat, to allow the patient to breath. This was a gift by Ronald McDonald on Feb. 29, 1892. Leap year. It makes you wonder what the significance of that date is. Was it the day the doctor saved his or one of his families lives?
