Rare Blue Bakelite (8522)

I have a lot of bakelite canes and umbrellas, but don't consider myself and expert on individual uniquenesses. If you go by how little you see certain colors, then this one is at the top. As you can see this one is pretty plain. The ones that bring the big money are the carved ones. They are also usually on canes, which make them collectable. Nobody seems to want these but me. I always ask the bakelite dealers if they have bakelite handles and they always tell me they didn't bring them. Didn't bring them because of no demand. Were there a difference in the ones on canes and umbrellas? Yes! Can one tell the difference? Yes! As we get more examples you will tell to. I would like to see umbrella handles stay on umbrellas and canes on canes, and the only way that will happen is for those who care, to demand they be correct, and pay the same for a umbrella as a cane.
