Barometer And Telescope (8609)
The barometer in this one is the smallest one I have ever seen, about the size of a silver dollar, and fits the container perfectly. There is a set screw on the back of every pocket barometer, if that screw can’t be gotten to, it would not be authentic, as the adjustment screw is needed to set the distance above sea level. If it is not set correctly, it will not tell the proper height. It was necessary for knowing oxygen levels, distances, weather etc. Below it is a seven draw telescope with good optics signed Cary London. I don’t like the fact that this is all polished brass, but I like how rare the parts are that make up this cane. Even if it is made up it was done well and the maker should be very proud. The parts were all made about 1890.
