Presentation Handle On Barrel With Separate Firing Mechanism (8743)
This gun cane has a lot of similarities to a new gun cane that’s old. The American gold handle is on a gun barrel, which it matches perfectly. It is also attached to a great triangular engraved sword. The firing mechanism is attached to the stock. One similar, number 32/11in Dike says its a cane+pistol=gun I'm sure is a typographical error as there is no way this can be a pistol. She says it's german, which I'm sure is true. This is the first one I’ve physically seen. The gun is like the other gun cane, European, with an American handle. The uniqueness of the gun cane is worth illustrating, as well as another example of a cane without a factory original handle. The one in Dike has an ugly wood knob, I suppose the beautiful gold knob could be taken off and the ugly one put on. The gold one is in mint condition, and fits the shaft perfectly, like the gun, and was presented to Edmond Cody by his friends on July 17, 1876. When it's yours you can choose which one you want.
