 A Rare Presentation with one piece ivory shaft (8781)
The pattern of this handle is certainly interesting, but not rare. It's only gold filled, but it has a one piece ivory shaft, 35" long. The surprise of this is the handle, as this type of shaft has always been rare. It was a wasteful way to make a shaft, as the majority of ivory shafts were segmented in several pieces, with threaded steel pins to hold them together. This shaft has a rarity code of 4 and a value code of E.
