 Diana Goddess Of The Hunt (8873)
Ivories are not my expertise, but this one looked so interesting I had to ask Bettye Grissom about it. I won’t usually step up to the plate and pay $4000, the value of a cane like this, but I like to ask anyway. The naked girl is Diana the Goddess of the hunt. Her name was also Artemus her Greek name. She informed me all the Gods and Goddesses all had two names. She liked to run around at night naked and men would try a get a glimpse of her. Not Bettye but Diana. How come it’s always the men who are chasing the women? Well in this case, it serves them right, because she turns them into animals. I ask whether it was one kind of animal or more than one kind, and she said she preferred jackasses like me.
